Louis Garland

Attorney Garland joined Piccirillo Law, Ltd. in October 2018, adding his experience in estate planning and real estate law to the firm.

Attorney Garland has a J.D. from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law and a B.A. from the Ohio State University. After beginning his legal career at a mid-size firm in Pittsburgh that specialized in insurance law, toxic tort litigation, defective product litigation, and business planning, Attorney Garland returned to the Mahoning Valley in 2008 after accepting a position as in-house counsel with the former First Place Bank.

Lou spent nearly a decade in-house with the former First Place Bank, becoming an Assistant General Counsel in 2012, and maintaining that position through the merger with Talmer Bank and Trust. During his time with the Bank, Attorney Garland’s responsibilities included acting as counsel for the bank in residential foreclosures and collection matters, monitoring financial privacy issues, including managing high volumes of requests for customer information, advising retail banking on legal documents presented by customers, drafting and reviewing loan documentation, loan workouts, real property acquisition and disposition, and other in-house counsel matters.

Lou then started working in private practice in 2016, specializing in estate planning as well as real estate law, and shall be expanding his practice to include elder law, medicaid and nursing home planning with Piccirillo Law, Ltd.

Lou also holds the position of Title Agent with Mill Creek Title Agency, LLC.

He is a member of the Ohio State Bar Association and the Mahoning County Bar Association.

Lou lives in New Middletown, Ohio with his wife Maggie, and their children, Grace and Grant.
